Columbia University is the first university in the United States to join as a Green Monday partner and refers to Green Monday as “a global sustainability initiative that was designed to promote green lifestyle choices”. David Yeung is the Chairman of retail groups Visual Culture and Shine* and second generation of Hong Kong listed company Glorious Sun Enterprises Limited. David’s late father founded Tommy Bahama, a Seattle-based fashion brand of high-end activewear. David is currently Vice President of Glorious Sun (New York) Inc., a property investment company that owns over 1.5 million square feet office space in New York City. His latest angel investments include multiple premium health beverage companies and an electric vehicle manufacturer.
David Yeung is a regular guest on one of China’s highest-rated TV shows, with a viewership of over 120 million. He is also a best-selling author. His works include “Go Green 88”, a comprehensive guide to green restaurants in Hong Kong, as well as books on applied Buddhism and Zen philosophy. David is a regular columnist on many publications in Hong Kong including East Week, U Magazine, ETnet, Metro Newspaper, and Buddhist Compassion. He is also a radio program host on Metro Radio and regularly gives talks to corporations and the public. David has recently been invited to speak at Columbia University, Tsinghua University, TEDx, and the Credit Suisse Philanthropy Forum.
David and his family charity foundation have been key supporters of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, the world’s largest private HIV/AIDS research center. David is also a long term supporter of an endowed professorship for Columbia University. David sits on the boards of Gracious Glory Buddhism Foundation, Hong Kong AIDS Foundation and Hong Kong Buddhist Association.
